Processing & Purification Facility
The Noramidye Processing and Purification Facility is strategically located on the coastline of Marmara Island, adjacent to the main harbor. This ensures that harvested mussels are landed and put into purification tanks in the shortest time possible, preserving their quality.
Upon arrival, live mussels are loaded into depuration tanks. They remain in clean, filtered seawater sterilized by high-performance ultraviolet (UV) systems for a minimum of 48 hours.
During this depuration process, mussels naturally filter the UV-sterilized water, flushing out any internal sand, grit, silt, or potential microbiological contaminants. This guarantees a clean, sand-free, and safe product.
Following depuration, the mussels are graded, de-bearded (byssus removed), and packed in mesh bags under strict temperature controls. Our facility is A-class EU approved, maintaining the highest levels of food hygiene and quality control.
